I created this site because I'd been trying to view aurora but didn't want to have to constantly be checking online for the latest aurora activity.

Free Aurora Alerts lets you set up a free alert when aurora activity is forecast to reach your preset 'trigger level' in the next hour. Hopefully that gives you enough time to get out of the house and away from the lights of the city! If you'd like more warning of forecast activity, check the four hour forecast on the front page of this site, or signup to daily aurora forecast emails, which give the estimated aurora levels for the next three days.
